Hydrocortisone (Hydrocortisone) is a corticosteroid hormone derived from natural hormones produced by the body (aldosterone and cortisol). Certain conditions, such as Addison’s disease cause low levels of corticosteroid hormones. Because corticosteroids are important for the functioning of the body, a low level of these hormones can cause symptoms such as muscular pain, dizziness and a lack of energy. Severe cases may even lead to the patient collapsing or dying. This medicine works by replacing the body’s natural hormones.
